2010 USA International Horseback Archery Challenge

Cascade  Mounted Archery Center held a fantastic event at the fairgrounds in Redmond, Oregon in October 2010.  Nine countries were represented as horseback archers from all over the world dazzled the audience with traditional horseback archery styles.  South Korea, Mongolia, Japan, United Kingdom, Brazil, Malaysia, Poland, Germany and the United States represented their countries dressed in period costumes.  The US Team included representatives from Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Montana, Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon.  The spirit of international goodwill, sportsmanship and cultural respect and exploration were among the prime goals for this event and that was certainly the case.  Don’t miss your opportunity to attend a mounted archery event, they are spectacular.

In the past the Mounted Archery Association of the America’s (MA3) has hosted international horse archery competitions.  In 2012 we started hosting the MA3 championships, a Bi-Continental competition where any of the members from both North and South America could come battle it out for the title of “America’s Champion”.  The competition was held over a 3 day period and consisted of 32 riders from 6 different countries.  As is the culture of the sport 6 slots were left for non-resident guests to compete and ride for the over all champion title.  During 2012 we had visiting riders from Hungary, Germany, and the Netherlands come and compete.  There were 5 classes of rider from youth (17 and under) senior (55 and older) novice, intermediate and advanced.  We had at least 5 riders in every category.  The event was held at the first of the year so that it’s winners could be recommended to other countries when there invitational horse archery competitions were anounced.  The 2012 Bi-continental Championship was held in New Braunfels Texas and was hosted by A Company Mounted Archery there.
